Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup Recipe
A package of onion soup mix flavors the tomato broth in which six different vegetables are combined with shredded cabbage in this fat free, low-calorie soup.
This was very good, but I agree with previous reviewers - it takes a long time to cut all the veggies. I halved this recipe and it still made A LOT!! I added an 8 oz. can of low-salt tomato sauce and the entire can of beef broth, along with the water. It took nearly 2 hrs. of simmering for the veggies to be tender. Does anyone know how many points this is on the Weight Watcher's winning points program? Thanks!
No substitutes. Just less onion. Soup turns out perfect and taste even better the next day.
Getting in shape and eating flavorful food shouldn't be mutually exclusive.
Definitley will make this again! My husband doesn't care for cabbage meals but he loved this! So good
Perfect - only used veg broth & V-8 type juice cuz that's what I had & I was too sick to go out. FAB hot nutritious meal. NEXT...added zucchini & cici's to a quart batch and Voila! Great new meal! Going to try something dif in very batch. THANKS for a great one!
If adjusting the recipe, don't add sugar or carbs. I season with only salt, pepper corns and about 3 - 4 bay leaves. No V8 or tomato juice, just beef broth, water & a can of tomato sauce. All other ingredients stay the same, except for more veggies & I add mushrooms. You will be guaranteed to lose weight. I make a pot & take containers to work for lunch. Sometimes I add a splash of vinegar & siracha in my container making it more of a hot and sour, just to change it up a bit. You can add pork sausage, beef, chicken, etc. I use beef shank for more flavor.
