What an easy recipe, and so yummy! Could be a meal in itself. I used white potatoes, because that's what I had on hand. I also used ham instead of bacon for the same reason. Also included a turnip, so I could sneak it in and no one even noticed! Very simple ingredients. The ranch dressing mix was the only thing I don't normally carry. This will become one of our regular recipes!
Yum! I made this tonight for dinner with a few tweaks based on what I had on hand. I replaced the water with reduced-sodium chicken broth since I didn't have bullion. I also thickened it up at the end by ladling out a cup of the broth, whisking in 3 tbs of flour, and adding it back to the crock pot. All in all it came out great, but next time I think I'll add the bacon at the end.
